Tough Week

It was a tough week last week with the kids. First Aidan was sick to his stomache, then Keagan got it, then Brennon, back to Aidan, etc, then mom and dad, etc... So Tuesday I have Chris drop Aidan off at work with me. After an hour, he's eating his sandwich and just starts crying saying his throat hurts. After a quick call to the doctor, he gets diagnosed with Strep. Yee Haw. 24 hours with no contact with daycare, meaning I get to work from home tomorrow. When the kids get home from school, I make a point to tell them no kissing, sharing drinks or eating with Aidan. After a half hour, I look up in time to see Brennon pop Aidan in the throat, because he was going to 'touch' him. *sigh* really, motherhood is the best.

Aidan's 5th Birthday

I'm a bad mom. Really. I did not throw a party for Aidan this year. Instead, he had his friend Sophie over. Who I think is just so freakin' adorable. Of course I had to kid with Sophie's mom that they are only 2 years apart!!!!

Aidan's godmother Karen bought him a small cake to celebrate the inaguration of the new president as well. I think he thinks the cake had Mace Windu on it, and we'll let him believe that.

Water, Water, Everywhere....

Puyallup, WA (Our Roller Rink!)

Pierce County, WA

Rain literally put thousands of lives into havoc yesteday. Whole sections of I-5 fell away furthur south, and the rest of the roads are developing huge potholes from the ice and sudden rain. What a very tumultuous time right now for most of us. I feel horrible for those familys that are stuck in the flood zones. What a way to start the new year.

Yippee Kai Yai Little Cowgirl

While in New Mexico I came across the most outrageous chaps I have ever seen. The funny thing is.....that's exactly my style. Wouldn't you know, they were my size, AND, the boots I was wearing actually matched the colors. How ironic is that. Well, I didn't buy them. I went home, I told Chris I liked them, he said buy them, I said no.... 2 days later we went to a boot shop that was closed, so ***** I said, well, let's go look at those chaps again. They were still there, I tried them on. Thought I looked pretty flashy (that's all that matters over 30!) I hemmed and hawwed. Thought about putting them back, did put them back, walked around the store. Thought how awesome it would be because I know that nobody in Washington has nice chaps like that. Yup, that did it. Having something I know that nobody would have!!! So, I bought it.

Told you they were outrageous!

I love the detail. I love the fact they have southwestern signias on them.

These are the boots I got for christmas. The color matches the inlay color on the signia, and the stitching is a teal like the outside of the trim. I know you wouldn't be caught dead in them. That's why they're mine! haha!

And we're home......

So ends the trip to Clovis. Was a great time. Only took 30 hours to drive back this time. Much better than going down. Coming back we actually seemed to have more time to enjoy the scenery. We took these photos going from New Mexico into Colorado. I love the one that looks like a lone budha figure. Was my favorite. I have to admit, no place is as good as home. I do NOT miss the wind that they get. But the scenery is so beautiful.

Christmas Bowling

My mom and dad took the kids bowling a few days after Christmas. Although my kids have been (like 1 other time) they handled it pretty well. My kids had bumpers, while my nieces were good enough to do without. Keagan actually ended up winning his very own bowling ball. Guess we'll be going back to make use of it!
Aidan performing the famous "push ball". (Let me just say, I could have gone to have a pedicure, come back, and that ball would still be rolling!!!)

Alex has the perfect stance for bowling. She had a great time. Except for when Nana asked if she wanted bumpers! :)

Papa giving Brennon some instruction.

Danielle had a pretty good game, she also asked Papa for a little help.

Keagan sporting his new bowling ball. Yeah, he's proud.

Rock ON!!!

I took my oldest rock climbing last Sunday. What a riot!!!! I never had so much fun. Especially shouting "Climb" and "Belay", etc... My nieces were there as well, and whenever I shouted out the wrong phrase, they were quick to correct me. Of course no one loves their butt hanging out! *sigh*** I was overall pleased with how easy it seemed, until I picked the hard wall. My fingers gave out, my thighs were shaking, and somehow I was wishing I quit when I was ahead. I plan to conquer that wall when next we return to Clovis.
